Left Turn Motorcycle Accidents
While we’re not 100% certain what happened in the crash above without investigating, we do know that every motorcyclist’s greatest fear is a motorcycle taking a left turn in front of them or into them.
Unfortunately, after these types of crashes, many drivers tell us that they didn’t notice the motorcycle, or they didn’t see it until it was too late. When a vehicle turns left in front of a bike, there are very few, if any, options, and almost never a good option.
Due to the relative lack of stability of motorcycles versus cars, motorcyclists are at a greater risk of fatality when involved in a crash. Data from the US Government shows that there are almost 30 times more motorcyclist deaths than motorist fatalities per year.
