Kentucky provides such an incredible backdrop for motorcyclists, but drivers can threaten the enjoyment riders feel with their lack of care towards anyone else using the road.

A failure to check mirrors and blind spots and even the road in front of them can leave careless drivers in the path of a motorcyclist. Their unexpected moves can leave a rider with little room or time to avoid a devastating collision.

Support for Families After a Tragic Motorcycle Accident In Jefferson County

The families of fatal accident victims are usually given precious few days to mourn their loss before the realities of such a tragedy sets in. The unfair financial drain on close relatives will begin with the costs of a funeral and burial. The losses continue as the deceased’s support for the family through his or her employment is suddenly taken away.

The expenses can be recovered through the use of a wrongful death lawsuit filed against the at-fault driver’s car insurance company. This civil claim would also seek to recover any medical debt and ambulance fees the victim incurred before they passed away.

For surviving victims, a similar civil claim can help earn support during recovery. A civil claim filed with the car insurance provider would ask that help be given with every doctor bill and emergency room fee. The costs of every medical service needed to this point and any care expected to be required in the future should be part of any insurance settlement.
